Working out is like therapy. And I think the world could use a little of that more than ever. There’s probably been days when you come in irritated from someone or something, got your sweat on, and leave feeling much better than the hour prior, mentally anyways.
99% of the time you’re happy you made the decision to come in rather than give in to some bad excuse not to. Exercise will release the neurotransmitter serotonin which makes us feel good, much like the effect of eating food or seeing the sun. Exercise can also make us spill dopamine, another neurotransmitter that’s gives us the “reward” feeling. Like you did something good for yourself.
Often these fall under the umbrella of endorphins, which is a general term used to describe the release of these feel good chemicals. Uncertainty has certainly plagued us all this year. It’s a shitty feeling. But in a world of uncertainty, one thing is for certain, working out can be the best medicine. #tuesdaytwocents
