Week 0 Schedule
-Thursday: Measurements and goal setting. Maria will be in to record your measurements, plan on a shortened training session to follow.
-Saturday: -We will have 1 class workout at 0700, we want to get a big group together to celebrate completion of the Q1 cycle and also 4 years of Sisu being open. We will get shitty. We hope to see EVERYONE!
-Dr. Ben Bagge is going to be working with Sisu and will be conducting a Biomechanical Workshop: The workshop is focused on identifying
anatomical restrictions that can impact running, squats, deadlifts, bench press, and other lifts. This will be at 0800 following the workout. Disregard the poll I mentioned earlier, this is it. We highly recommend that you come and check it out, he put me through his assessment and it is a great way to learn more about yourself and continue to add tools to help yourself. The plan is to take attendees through a biomechanical assessment & providing corrective exercises that can be implemented immediately to decrease pain with running and lifting.
-Global tap starting at 1100 for celebration
The Academy cycles always fly by, and this one is no different in that regard however the next cycle carries a little more weight than the rest. This will more than likely be our last cycle in this location and I want to approach each week with a clear focus and level of intent that reflects the pride that we have with what we do at Sisu. The plan to launch is for the end of July.
Every cycle shows a similar response rate with goal setting and we usually can expect a drop in energy and attendance around week 6 or 7. Given this insight I want you to think about your goals and mental focus moving forward in a different light then before.
When you make a commitment, you are making a promise. Not to us but to yourself. Keeping a promise builds character, improves your self-esteem, and leads to higher rates of success in any area of your life. You build confidence!
There is a big difference between being interested in something and being committed to it. Being interested in a goal is when circumstances permit. Being committed to a goal turns the “if” into “how”. You will find a way to navigate the obstacles that you are certain to face.
Act on your commitments, not your feelings. If you do not act on your commitments, you will lose momentum and continually restart. Sound familiar?
Great goals start with a vision. It is the starting point for all high performance. When you are setting goals, you must have a goal that is clear and personally compelling.
Having clear and compelling goals will help you to navigate challenges you will face and increase the odds that you will act on your commitment. Once you have your vision you need a plan! This is where we can help you the most. A good plan brings balance between too much complexity and too little detail. With the vision you create, we can help you to build the best plan and to execute every single day.
This cycle we need to focus on intentionality. I want Sisu to be a place where no matter what you have going on in your day you can find a sanctuary to focus on bettering yourself.
Everyone has so much shit to juggle throughout the day, that what tends to happen is that we give ourselves partially to a lot of different things but end up not giving 100% in anything.
I want to change that.
For our last cycle I challenge you to make Sisu a place that gets your full attention. You owe it to yourself. Time is perishable, and if you aren’t purposeful with your time you leave everything that happens to chance.
This is a reactive approach that will prevent you from doing your best.
We are effectively three months out from growing and making moves on our own terms and we are beyond excited to share that with you.
In the meantime we have a job to do and I want to come together to make this a memorable cycle as we prepare for what is next.
Lets crush this week and celebrate correctly this weekend!
