A couple months ago I read an article about the different types of people. It said that there are three types: there are lifters, suckers and blenders.
Lifters are the type of people we all love. From the moment they walk into the room, they light up others. They lighten the mood, make everyone feel good and energize the room. Everyone knows at least one lifter. We all definitely know at least one sucker.
Suckers are the people that suck the life out of the room. Negativity surrounds them, and they create a toxic environment almost immediately. And then there are the blenders.
Blenders are neither lifters nor suckers. They don’t really bring anyone up or down, they keep the room neutral.
The article went on to say that only about 10% of people are lifters, about 20% suckers and the rest, blenders.
Moral of the story is that you hold the power to limit time to any sort of person and that you should limit your exposure to people that bring you down.
If you spend twice as much time with others that bring you up and half as much with others that bring you down, then you’ll be much much happier.
